Prof. Amrut Lonare (Physics), a past hostel student 40 years ago (1971-74) and who is a treasurer of VSS and his younger brother Prof. Kashinath Lonare who is also a past hostel student has established a SPANDAN hostel at Hinganghat Dt. Wardha(Maha.) under the banner of VidyarthiSahayyakSamitiWarora. After his retirement in 2011, he founded a hostel in a rented building for 15 students. Now a very specious building of 4000 sq.ft.worth Rs.1.5 crore is constructed by his initiative along with the support of another past hostel student engg. Dilip Agrawal (30 years ago) secretary VSS, who has prepared a master plan of the building and has guided the construction work at site. Now the hostel is shifted in a new building on 26th Jan14. It has accommodated 160 students.
The peculiarity of this hostel is that the past students of Prof. Lonare who had their personal teaching for XI & XII Sc. Physicsunder his guidance without any charges and who are now working as doctors, engineers etc. have contributed Rs.11 Lakhs for the purchase of the land for this hostel. The local people have also contributed Rs.25 lakhs for the building. C.F. Mumbai has supported us for this. One more special thing for this hostel is that Mr. Amrut Lonare, his brothers & son & daughter in law have contributed Rs.3 Lakhs for the building in the beginning only. The construction quality is very good and there is an active participation of local people, though Hinganghat is a small town. The VSS Warora is now have its branch as VSS Hinganghat. Prof. Lonare has completely devoted to this activity nearly for full time and the complete pattern of Dnyanda hostel at Warora to build the character of the students is being followed at Hinganghat.
